How DraftCrane works
Built for consultants, coaches, and subject-matter experts writing a nonfiction book. If you have the knowledge but not the system, this is how DraftCrane helps.
Chapter list sidebar showing organized book structure
Keep everything organized
Your book has chapters. DraftCrane gives each one its own space. Drag them into order. See your table of contents take shape as you write. No more scrolling through a single endless document.
Each chapter auto-saves to your Google Drive. You can see them in your Drive folder at any time, even if you never open DraftCrane again.
AI rewrite panel with selected text and suggested revision
Write with an AI that knows your book
Select any passage and ask the AI to rewrite, expand, or simplify it. Unlike ChatGPT, the AI reads your entire chapter before suggesting changes. The result sounds like you wrote it, because you guided it.
Every AI suggestion requires your approval. Nothing changes in your manuscript until you say so. You are the author — the AI is the writing partner.
Google Drive folder showing chapter documents
Your files, your Google Drive
DraftCrane works with your Google Drive. Your chapters are Google Docs in a folder you choose. We can only see files inside that folder — nothing else in your Drive.
If you stop using DraftCrane tomorrow, every word you wrote is still in your Drive, in standard Google Docs format. No exports, no data requests, no waiting.
Export dialog showing PDF and EPUB options
Export a real book file in one click
When your manuscript is ready, generate a formatted PDF or EPUB file. One click, saved to your Google Drive. Hand it to an editor, upload it to a publisher, or share it with colleagues.
No wrestling with formatting software. No copy-pasting between tools. Your manuscript goes from organized chapters to a real book file.
